Join YNCU in welcoming our new CEO, Lisa Colangelo!

YNCU is thrilled to announce that effective September 9, 2024, Lisa Colangelo will be joing the YNCU leadership team as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Lisa comes to us with extensive experience as a senior-level executive with over 20 years of success, driving strategic business growth efforts across districts, territories, and branches for TD Bank, Western Financial Group, and Coast Capital Savings. Most recently, she held the role of Chief Strategy and Customer Experience Officer at Western Financial Group where she successfully delivered exceptional experiences through developing strong partnerships and commitment to developing people. Lisa also recently completed her Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University.

Canada Post Labour Disruption: Potential Member Impacts


Canada Post is currently experiencing labour disruptions that may impact YNCU mail services, including paper statements and important communications regarding your accounts. To avoid potential delays and ensure uninterrupted access to your account information, we encourage you to view your statements online and to switch to e-Statements.

Members can quickly switch to e-Statements through online banking by following these easy steps:
1. Log in to online banking
2. Select “My Accounts” in the left menu options
3. Select “Statement Preferences”
4. Select “eStatement Only (Free)” from the options next to the desired account
If you need assistance, please contact your branch or the Service Excellence Centre at 1-888-413-9628.

If you are aware of a term that is maturing shortly, we encourage you to proactively reach out to your portfolio manager to discuss renewal options. For more information on your terms please review your latest statement or log into online banking and go to “My Accounts” from the left menu options and select "View e-documents".

Members who receive government payment cheques by mail may experience delays. Canada Post will deliver Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS), and Canada Child Benefit (CCB) cheques to recipients once a month. To limit disruptions in receiving government payment cheques, we urge you to enroll in CRA Direct Deposit. Here's how:
1. Log in to online banking
2. Select “Account Services” from the left menu options
3. Select “Set up CRA direct deposit for individuals”
4. Follow the instructions outlined in each step

You can also enroll through your online Canada Revenue Agency My Account profile. For more information on CRA Direct Deposit, visit the Government of Canada website.
 

An Important Update: Uptown Waterloo Relocation

We have an exciting update on the development of our new YNCU branch that will contribute to the vitality of Uptown Waterloo. We initiated our Uptown Waterloo Redevelopment project in the summer of 2021 and are looking forward to moving members from our temporary “Marbles” location to the new state-of-the-art facility this fall.

Important Dates

  • Last Day of Operation at 8 William Street East: Thursday, October 3rd, 2024
  • Moving Day (Branch Closure): Friday, October 4th, 2024
  • First Official Day of Operation at 168 King Street South: Monday, October 7th, 2024

This development marks a significant milestone in our journey to provide exceptional service and a modernized experience for all our valued members. This means better service, more advisors, best-in-class technology, and innovative financial solutions.

Canada's Wonderland Point-of-Sale Terminal Issues


YNCU is aware of an ongoing technical issue regarding credit union debit cards being declined at Canada's Wonderland POS terminals. We would like to advise our members to bring an alternative method of payment when attending the park in order to avoid any issues where purchases cannot be made. Our third-party provider is actively working to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
